USEFUL INFORMATION AND FACTS
WHAT IS SLIDAMATE ?
SLIDAMATE is a patented & registered technology, also known as WALKING FOOD TRUCKS. What makes this product different to similar products on the market is that there is no webbing or straps. SLIDAMATE has its own solid but lightweight shoulder harness that connects with interchangeable attachments known as SLIDA's, used for the distribution and sale of food and drink. The SLIDA range consist of the multi-purpose FLIPTRAY, DUOCHEF & the BARSERVE. When the DuoChef is not mobilized, the unit becomes a multi-heat, benchtop food warmer with interchangeable pans for pre-cooked food stuffs. Boosting the heat is achievable by adding 2 burners. The unit operates without mains power and easily converts to mobilize and walk about in stadiums, sporting events, markets and alike. The harness system is easy to add on by simply replacing the rear removable pan well. The BARMAID is for wine, champers and some 1.5 litre water products, ideal for food and wine festivals. The FLIPTRAY, deep on one side and flat on the other can be flipped & attached either way. The flat side for example can be used as a work bench for laptops, iPads or even remote devices for drones and other UAV's The deep side you can attach our removable can holders with extensions this means you can stack & carry 2 dozen plus 250 ml drinks or beverages & place disposable cups in the tray. HOW HEAVY ARE THE SLIDA's?
Whether hawking or vending, our products are designed and built strong and lightweight. DUOCHEF with harness, (Shipping Weight) is just over 5kg, (11lbs) the lightest mobile heated food warmer of its type on the planet. That compares with 2 major brands widely used in the market currently weighing (Shipping weight) between 11.7kg (26lbs) & 15.8kg (35lbs) Our multi-purpose FLIPTRAY with harness is around 2.98kg and the BARSERVE just 2.0kg's.
HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO PREPARE & HEAT MY DUOCHEF?
The following is a standard example when using a single burner. Times will vary however using a prep arrangement say for frankfurters or hot dogs and the 1/2 size 150mm (6") deep pan, place 4 cups of water in the pan and leave for 20 minutes. Place franks or dogs (25 or less) into the hot pan and leave for another 15 or 20 minutes and then serve. (Temp 70-75C). NOTE The bun warmer inside, gets hot to touch up to around 45C, so place the buns inside before the bun warmer gets to hot. BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING BUNS USE SERVING TONGS AT ALL TIMES.
TIP; If using the eco-burner, (Gas) either mobile or benchtop, pre-heat your franks or dogs by other means before transferring to the basin. This gives you a head start as the eco-burner, when fully gassed up, will burn for 2 hours. It can reach a maximum 80C so ensure you turn down the heat a little to prevent the dogs from splitting.
T
CAN I BOOST THE HEATING?
Yes you can. BUT WE ONLY RECOMMEND THIS WHEN USING THE BENCHTOP OPTION, NOT WHEN MOBILE. SO BOOST THE HEAT BY USING 2 X BURNERS FOR THE 1/2 SIZE PAN, LEFT & RIGHT (The centre cut-out is for the 1/2 size pan single burner ) FOR HEATING SAY 2 VARIETY OF FOOD THEN USE TWO 1/4 SIZE PANS ADDING A BURNER EACH, LEFT & RIGHT. NOTE; Extra STANDARD or ECO-BURNER adapter plates including WIND SHIELDS are available to purchase on our website www.slidamate.com
WHAT SIZE PANS CAN I USE WITH MY DUOCHEF?
IMPORTANT- THE DUOCHEF IS DESIGNED TO ACCEPT THE EUROPEAN GN STANDARD OF GASTRONORM PANS MEASURED IN METRICS, THE US USES THE IMPERIAL STANDARD OF INCHES HOWEVER HOWEVER THEY WILL FIT, YOU CAN SEE THE CONVERSIONS HERE For example the GN 1/2 size is 325mm X 265mm X 150mm. The US Standard equivalent is 12 3/4 inches X 10 3/8 inches X 6 inches. Check a local hospitality distributor or search online. Try ebay, amazon and webstaurantstore.com In New Zealand view Southern Hospitality's Delta range and in Australia try Nisbets. With the DuoChef you are able to heat 2 - 1/4 size pans 150mm in depth by placing them over the left & right side of the unit. Burners can be added to one or both sides. Alternatively you can place a 1/2 size pan 150mm in depth over the centre single burner or double the heat by adding 2 burners to the left and right. If your operating DuoChef as the BENCHTOP option, select the benchtop basin well extension. This means the harness is removed and replaced with the extension. This allows for interchangeable arrangements by using a 1/3rd size or 2 X 1/6ths or 3 X 1/9th size pans. Again please refer to the user guide inside your box.
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE PANS AND CHAFING FUEL?
Check your local hospitality distributor or google the internet. Burners or chafer fuel are available locally through a hospitality distributor or outlet. HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY DUOCHEF?
PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE SCRUBBING COMPOUNDS OR METAL BRUSHES OR POT SCRUBS ON ANY STAINLESS STEEL OR POWDER COATING SERFACES. Remove the basins and wash them in hot soapy water rinse and dry. All stainless steel components such as the bun warmer and benchtop pan well can be washed in warm or hot soapy water and dried as well. Be gentle and careful not to bend any of the parts. To clean or remove food bits in-between the numerous folding gaps, use a semi firm nylon or bristle brush, not to course. Careful not to scratch any of the surfaces. To clean "the box" (black main frame) just use a warm damp cloth then wipe dry.
DO'S AND DONT'S
* Always keep your DuoChef clean & careful not to scratch surfaces
* Always dispose of spent chafer burners responsibly, talk to your supplier.
* Always use the long handle gas lighters where possible.
